I'm Brennen—a designer and researcher based in Vancouver, Canada. I specialize in design for the public sector.

I conduct impossible-to-ignore user research to build consensus and drive change.

Plain language is my love language.

I use research and data to craft stories that make things happen. Good research turns skeptics into allies.

I got my start in UX at the University of Washington's HCDE program, where I honed my skills in user research and human-computer interaction. Later, I explored design from a spatial perspective by studying interior architecture at the University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture.

I've worked with some amazing designers and consultancies like Olson Kundig, Inside Outside, Home Studios, and frog.

I'm currently a Senior UX Designer with the British Columbia Ministry of Housing and Municipal Affairs. Our team is working to make BC the North American leader in digital building permits and build more homes, faster.

Prior to this, I worked as a UX Strategist for the City of Vancouver. And before that, I led the design team at the Levantine restaurant group mama. Let's just say I can make some pretty good hummus.
